Roundtable on immigration in Arizona

I have written a guest blog post about the anti-immigration roundtable at the 2010 Science Fiction Research Association meeting, held in Carefree, Arizona. The planning of the conference predated the anti-immigration legislation, and rather than cancel the conference, SFRA decided to face the issue head-on by discussing it. Also released was the SFRA 2010 Statement in Response to the Arizona Immigration Bill, SB 1070.
The question the roundtable panelists were asked to address was, “What does SF across media have to say about immigration?” In my guest blog post, I summarize the panelists’ remarks and note some concerns that came up during discussion. I also list a number of SF texts (print, TV, and film) that deal with immigration.
