Dr. Rebecca Housel has two forthcoming chapters on monsters in popular culture including “Frankenstein’s Legacy” in Humanity and Technology, edited by Carol Colatrella (Salem Press 2011) and an anthology on evil in popular culture co-edited by Jody Pennington with Praeger in late 2012. As “The Pop Culture Professor TM,” Housel is also the author/editor of True Blood & Philosophy: We Wanna Think Bad Things with You (Wiley 2010, 2011), Twilight & Philosophy: Vampires, Vegetarians and the Pursuit of Immortality (Wiley 2009), X-Men and Philosophy: Uncanny Insight and Amazing Argument in the Mutant X-Verse (Wiley 2009), and From Camera Lens to Critical Lens (Cambidge SP 2006). Housel is also the author of middle-grade fiction called the High Seas series (High Noon 2001). Housel is on the Editorial Advisory Boards for the Journal of Popular Culture and Journal of American Culture. Dr. Housel’s blog reaches more than 70,000 fans; she has been interviewed by the Huffington Post, Inside Higher Ed, Redbook magazine, Woman’s World, Marie Claire, Gelf magazine, FOX, YNN, and NBC.
