Bio

Elizabeth Wolfson is a Fulbright Fellow and freelance art writer currently living and working in Burdur, Turkey. In addition to her duties as a lecturer in the Foreign Languages department at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, she conducts research on contemporary Turkish art, which she publishes in “Turkish and Other Delights,” the biweekly column she writes for the Art21 blog. She has a B.A. in Social Thought and Analysis from Washington University in St. Louis and a M.A. in American Studies from Saint Louis University. As a master’s student, her work focused on cultural theory, visual culture studies, and digital media. Upon her return to the U.S. next fall, she will begin a PhD program in either American Studies or Communication, at an as-yet-to-be-determined institution.
