Bio: Mark Gallagher is a Lecturer in the Department of Culture, Media and Film at the University of Nottingham. He is the author of Action Figures: Men, Action Films and Contemporary Adventure Narratives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) and is completing a book on Steven Soderbergh and Hollywood authorship. He is co-editor (with Julian Stringer) of Scope: An Online Journal of Film and Television Studies. His work has appeared in Velvet Light Trap, Jump Cut, Feminist Media Studies, the Journal of Popular Film and Television and other journals, and in the anthologies Global Chinese Cinema: The Culture and Politics of Hero (Routledge, 2010) Authorship in Film Adaptation (U of Texas P, 2008), Film Stars: Hollywood and Beyond (Manchester UP, 2004) and Mythologies of Violence in Postmodern Media (Wayne State UP, 1999).
