Morgan Blue

Bio: I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Radio-Television-Film at The University of Texas at Austin. My dissertation, “Performing 21st-Century Girlhood: Girls, Postfeminist Discourse, and the Disney Star Machine,” examines contemporary discourses of girlhood and the ways in which they function in the Disney entertainment and consumer products empire. My work is published in Red Feather Journal and Feminist Media Studies (forthcoming 2013). I am a Coordinating Editor of The Velvet Light Trap and a programmer for Cinemakids International Film Festival.
