RenĂ© Thoreau Bruckner is a theorist and historian of film and media. He received his Ph.D. in Visual Studies from UC Irvine. He is a a full-time faculty member at Columbia College Hollywood, where he also serves as Curriculum Coordinator. He also has taught at the University of Southern California, Binghamton University, Oklahoma State University, UC Santa Barbara, Loyola Marymount L.A., and College of the Canyons. His specializations include theories of time and technology, time travel, sound studies, wildlife cinema & animal studies, and cryptozoology. His writing has appeared in Cinema Journal, Discourse, Spectator, and others.
