I am a PhD candidate and part-time lecturer at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, and part of the Cinema and Television History (CATH) Research Centre.

My research focuses on contemporary blockbuster franchising across British and American contexts, with a particular focus on the Harry Potter franchise and the role of media paratexts in shaping and developing the brand. I like to take a transmedial approach, so I look at a wide variety of texts, experiences, media and extratextual materials, including but not limited to websites, theme parks, plays, promotional materials, exhibitions and adaptations.

I recently published an article entitled ‘Pottermore: Transmedia Storytelling and Authorship in Harry Potter’ in peer-reviewed journal The Midwest Quarterly (2016), vol. 58.1, August, pp. 112-132.
