C.W. Anderson is an assistant professor of media culture at the College of Staten Island (CUNY), teaching classes in both journalism and media studies. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. Since 2009 he has also served as a visiting fellow at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project. From 2009-2010, he was a Knight Media Policy Fellow at the New America Foundation.

Anderson is completing a book on the future of journalism, Networking the News: The Struggle to Rebuild Local Journalism in the Web Era, 1997-2011. He has published academic articles in Political Communication, Journalism, and numerous anthologies on digital media. He blogs regularly for the Nieman Journalism Lab and the Atlantic Online. His future research will examine the changing relationship between digital journalism and American politics, as well as shifting ideas of how journalists produce social knowledge.
