The MediaCommons User Profile system lets members of the MediaCommons community describe themselves and their interests. It also offers the ability to aggregate intellectual productions, regardless of whether they happen inside or outside the MediaCommons networks. Blogs, websites, online journals, and printed books can all be tracked and associated with a user’s profile. The system also allows users to declare their relationships to one another, to their institution, and to broadcast their ideas, activities, etc through federated services such as Twitter.
