Eric Hoyt is Assistant Professor of Media & Cultural Studies in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His teaching and research concentrate on digital media production, the Digital Humanities, and the past, present, and future of the media industries. He co-directs the Media History Digital Library and he designed and produced Lantern, the MHDL’s search and visualization platform. Hoyt’s essays on media, culture, and law have appeared in Cinema Journal, The International Journal of Learning and Media, World Policy Journal, Jump Cut, and Film History. His first book, Hollywood Vault: Film Libraries before Home Video, is forthcoming from the University of California Press.
