Mark Gallagher is Lecturer in the Department of Culture, Film and Media at the University of Nottingham. He is the author of Another Steven Soderbergh Experience: Authorship and Contemporary Hollywood (University of Texas Press, forthcoming 2013) and Action Figures: Men, Action Films and Contemporary Adventure Narratives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006). He is co-editor (with Julian Stringer) of Scope: An Online Journal of Film and Television Studies. His work has appeared in Velvet Light Trap, Jump Cut, Feminist Media Studies, the Journal of Popular Film and Television and other journals, and in anthologies including Global Chinese Cinema: The Culture and Politics of Hero (Routledge, 2010), Authorship in Film Adaptation (U of Texas P, 2008), Film Stars: Hollywood and Beyond (Manchester UP, 2004) and Mythologies of Violence in Postmodern Media (Wayne State UP, 1999).
